360 is a french industrial design agency looking for a harmony between the freedom of the shapes and the technical requirements.
Founded in 2006, 360 is engaged in a global strategy. More than exploring a product, the agency
explores the cultural context, the technological background, the economical stakes and the innovation desires.
Its approach is made of aesthetic consistency where industrial knowledge gains a poetic and durable dimension.
360 strives after the conception of simple products which unite archetypes that the eye can
understand with just a look and that the hand can master in a few gestures. In each project there are
meetings and collaborations in which the designer plays the role of an idea catalyst.
The agency expresses its taste for precision design and the simplicity is embodied with these
processes: by interacting with engineers, architects and craftsmen in order to shore up the relevance of a hypothesis. Its priorities are to give a scale, to confer a density, to add a texture, to transfer equilibrium and to appreciate the result by taking the current material shape and confirming the movement it can create.
Founder and director of the agency, Patrick Jouffret was at first oriented towards the agronomics
sector where he developed his sense of observation for ecosystems. At the same time he studied the art of instrument making and was inspired by its aesthetical dimension centred on the object.
In 1996 he graduated at the ESDI (Superior School of Design) and he got his first professional
experience in Japan where the design of products in an ancestral heritage had a real impact on him.
In 2006 he founded the agency 360 in order to claim his business conception.

The oceanographic cage is revealed through an ergonomic form. drawing influences from marine life, the device floats around on a tripod steel curved structure, forming hydrodynamic geometry. the oceanographic cage can descend to 4000 meters in depth and makes its own measures through its sensors during some months.

The Look and 360’s aspiration was to change an archetype, to re-question the brand, to extend its integration concept and to concentrate on the bracket. Team work between the engineers and 360 creates the concept of integrated and reversible bracket which covers all positions. The 920 design embodies this innovation thanks to a lighter and more effective cockpit.

The success of the bike as a widely-used means for transport created an evolution in the cyclists’ needs. At home, in the office or in the street the helmet takes too much space. To encourage people to use the protection, 360 collaborates with Overade to design a helmet three times smaller than a standard one and offering the same protection level.

The Infinity lamp is made of a simple metal leaf articulated between two discs. Exactly where the joints are getting smaller, Infinity emphasizes on junction points and integrates a volume in another one.

EDF 100 is a lamp aimed at emergency technical interventions. It is waterproof, resistant , compact, autonomous and ergonomic. Its adjustable handle can be hanged on the wall or used as a simple leg; the technician can position the light in all situations.

It can be seen as the architect’s nightmare or as “the object too many”. The security pad is more chosen by necessity than by enthusiasm. 360 wanted to design a flat and discreet object that can be integrated in all environments without polluting them. The components were laid down flat in order to optimize each millimetre and to disappear behind the information pictograms.

The closing system of the Keo Blade is made with a carbon blade which replaces the traditional metal spring. Taking the opportunity of showing the beauty of this mechanism without hiding anything, 360 took the challenge of showing the technological innovation with a few means and lightness. This is a performance design.
